• July 4 - Pre-fireworks concert in Dorr
Tricks & The Common Good
As you all well know, Tricks and The Common Good played a lively Pre-Fireworks concert on July 4th in Dorr.
The crowd was in a summer - party mood! Great time with 2 fun bands.
Fantastic job and a nice long set from The Common Good at the Dorr Independence Day Celebration
Here's a YouTube video of The Common Good's closing song, "Pretend" at the Dorr Concert.
Here's a YouTube video of Tricks doing AC/DC's "Ridc One" while we're waiting for the Fireworks to begin.
Just before "Ride On", Rick said "when the fireworks start, we're going to stop right in the middle of the song, because we want to hear the "boom, boom", not us

• July & Aug - Steve builds a brand new grocery store...
The reason that Tricks had more summer weekends off than in years past, . . .
Drummer Steve was supervising construction and opening of a new "Dick's Market" in Dorr.
He was slightly busy, so Krys, Rick, and Dave set up some party gigs without drums

• July 26 - Annual party @ Tommy & Tara's in Irons
Krys, Rick, & Bassbeast
For the past, hmmm, 6 or 7 years, we've played an annual party for our good friends, Tommy and Tara Phelps.
The first few parties were around the pool at their house in South Haven. Last year, 2007, we brought the party up north to their cottage in the woods of Irons. The party is always in summer, and the main excuse is Tommy's birthday. But we just wanna have fun.

• Aug 30 - Rick & Krys Bi-Annual Party on the Patio
• The Common Good • Bill Roelofs & Friends • Opus • Tricks •
Rick & Krys have a Jam Party every other year, and we invite a bunch of our musically-talented friends.
The jamming was steady from about 5pm until about 1am. Thanks to the musicians:
Toman, Chris, Jeremy, Shaun, Bill, Darl, Dale, Tom, Dan, Steve, Dave, and Bassbeast.
First up: The Common Good alternative post-punk - - - Next ... fancy jazzy jamming from Bill Roelofs & Friends
Around dusk; the highlight of the day - Opus reunites, bringing back the 70's
Tricks-after-dark got out the headbanging hard rock
Lots of guitars: dueling Les Pauls (I think Darl is winning here).
Lots of good music, good food, good drinks, - a family day of musical fun at Krys & Rick's.
Morning-after wrap-up.
Well, that was how we passed the time while Tricks was on hiatus for Steve's store construction.
How was your summer? We had beautiful weather, didn't we?
Come on out for a night with Tricks soon. We miss ya!
We'll be doing our musical, rock and roll thing, like usual. Fun!
Here's our busy Schedule for the remainder of 2008:
